Our Covid Response

Donation of Laptops

The COVID-19 Pandemic has hit the Caribbean hard, significantly contracting the region’s already vulnerable economies.  Education has been one of the most impacted, with the futures of hundreds of thousands of students at every educational level threatened.  College and university students struggle to keep up by using their mobile phones to access online classes, while others simply had to drop out for lack of any kind of device, as parents lost jobs and could not afford to pay fees or buy equipment.

The ACMF has responded by establishing a COVID Relief Fund and, to date, has donated 18 laptops to students.  Grants were also awarded to students who were in the midst, or near their final semester of classes, to  prevent them from dropping out.

The drive continues for laptops and to secure additional funding to help more students.

The appreciation expressed by our grantees says it all.  Here are a couple of them:

My educational pursuits would not have been possible without your generous donation.

This opportunity has made such a big impact on my life physically and even more so mentally.

Financial Assistance

Many students were at risk of dropping out of university due to parental loss of income. We stepped in and awarded grants to students who were at the highest risk.
