ACMF welcomes new Advisory Board member Burchenal Green

We welcome to the ACMF Advisory Board Burchenal Green, President and Executive Director of the National Maritime Historical Society.  She has been steering the rudder of the Society for over 15 years.  Her family has islands in Pointe-au-Baril in Georgian Bay of Lake Huron, and she grew up summering there, traveling everywhere by boat. When she moved to the Hudson River Valley her fondest activities were taking her sons sailing and boating to explore the river. She has sailed from Block Island to Manhattan, around Nantucket, and off the coast of Maine.

She is active with the American Association of University Women (past NYS vice president) and serves on the Advisory Board for the Commemorations of the War of 1812.  In 1998 she worked with Howard Slotnick and Peter Stanford to bring the only parade of tall ships up the Hudson River in the twentieth century. She has a passion for history and its preservation and getting people out on ships, which strengthens their commitment.
