Boca Raton, FL, March 29, 2021: The American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF) is  pleased to announce that Jennifer Nugent-Hill, Director of Government and Community Affairs  at Tropical Shipping, has joined its Board of Directors

Ms. Nugent-Hill’s appointment is one of three key appointments to the ACMF Board of  Directors this year. The other two are Captain Rawle Baddaloo, Past President and Honorary  Member of both the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Shipping  Association, and Co-Leader Caribbean Marine Environment Protection Association CARIBMEPA;  and Emerson Alleyne, Executive Vice President of the Shipping Association of Barbados.

A non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, the ACMF mission is to ‘Alleviate poverty and  transform lives in the Caribbean through maritime education and community development.” The  foundation provides full-tuition scholarships and grants to Caribbean nationals planning to work  in the maritime industry, and who qualify to attend any one of ACMF’s three academic partners— the Caribbean Maritime University in Jamaica; the LJM Maritime Academy; and the University of Trinidad and Tobago. The foundation also funds equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.

Ms. Nugent-Hill said, “This is as important as it gets and I am delighted to have the privilege to  help young Caribbean nationals enter the Maritime industry which is a surefire way to grow the  industry in the Caribbean and contribute to the Region’s economic development in which world  class shipping, logistics and transportation play a vital role.”

“The ACMF is privileged to have on its team these three appointees who represent decades of  experience in the sector and a commitment to our kids”, says ACMF board member and donor,  Roland Malins-Smith.
